Alisa grew up locally in Yankton. Her father & grandfather were local contractors. In 2006 her dad introduced her to her mentor, Paula, who taught her the Oregon code & helped her draw up a working plan for her home. With help from her dad & brother, construction was completed in 2007. She still resides there on family land. That same year she started her local design business, designing primarily residential projects but some small commercial jobs as well. She spent four years in the steel industry making sales & serving on the board of the Association of Women in the Metals Industry. When her father passed unexpectedly in 2017, she returned to her passion for designing houses. She started with Lower Columbia Engineering in February of 2021. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family & friends, gaming with her significant other, Dan, gardening, canning, DIY & crafting.
