Rick grew up in Scappoose and graduated from Scappoose High School in 1994.  He attended Portland State University from 1994 to 1998 for general business studies.  In 2008 he attended ITT Tech Computer Aided Design and Drafting program and graduated with Highest Honors in 2010.  Leaving the Management Retail Lumber field of 18 years, in 2011 he started drafting in the audio/visual field becoming EAVA and ACE certified.  On his free time, he enjoys flying his drone, hiking, camping or a new pastime of off-roading his Jeep with his 13-year-old daughter.
